Where the past and the present meet – modern, central, and with all the magic of Iceland
Our design is inspired by the look of a traditional Icelandic turf house, the sloping green inclines reduce the visual impact of the hotel, while the bathroom area is tucked behind a lush green façade.
The floor-to-ceiling windows on the south and north-facing walls redirect the eye towards the elegant scenery, induce a feeling of being and living outdoors, and capture the delicate or dynamic changes in weather while giving the interiors a natural ambiance.
The interior walls are made of concrete with a natural finish. The raw material of the walls is extremely durable and suitable for interior use.
All spaces are large and open, providing a lot of room for creating drama by contrasting warm, neutral colours and classy interiors with raw concrete walls.
Timeless furniture helps to bring visual warmth to an area that might otherwise be overwhelmed by the coolness of raw concrete walls and large glass windows.
Form and function are both equally important considerations. Modern, industrial, colourful decor takes open concept living to the next level. The furniture and accessories define most spaces and the purpose they serve, so a lot of thought goes into every little detail.
All in all, our design style is about minimalistic, timeless and classy interiors that remain warm and inviting, and are as much about function as style, with strong, clean lines and without a hint of excess.
Our spacious rooms are individually designed in warm colours. When you are tired and feel like going to your room, you will find unique elements and colours throughout the space to give it a cosy feel. A lit candle or lamps for ambiance and soothing aromas, a selection of photographs hanging on the walls or framed on the bedside table.
Fruit, tea/coffee and snacks to keep in your room, carefully selected toiletries, beauty items, bath bombs, scented candles, cosy bathrobes and slippers, cosy pillows, a woollen blanket and flat screen smart TV with satellite channels and internet surfing. Feel free to rearrange the furniture in the room to create your own cosy feel.
The dining room, lounge & bar, with fire burning in the hearth, can seat 80 communal style dining guests.
A communal dining style means diners can be seated so they can enjoy the panoramic view with their meal of fresh dairy, meats, vegetables and fish, or the delicious breakfast buffet available every morning.
All hotel guests can enjoy our spacious turf house wellness centre
We offer hot thermal baths & Finnish sauna.
Being in a warm pool or in the sauna room underneath the stars and the northern lights surrounded by snow in winter, or watching the midnight sun during the light summer nights is enough of a reason to visit our hotel in itself.
