The Northern Light´s season is starting. On clear, crisp winter nights our hotel is one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights. You will most likely see the Aurora in October and  November and snow in December with cloudy skies. However, no guarantee, Icelandic weather is unpredictable.

New cancellation policy. We have experienced too many last-minute cancellations this summer (people are reserving two options for the same date just in case). Therefore, we have to change our cancellations policy in order to hold guests accountable for their reservations, that our guests only book a hotel room when they actually intend to stay. From being flexible with only 24 hours cancellation prior to their scheduled arrival date we have to extend it to 7 days. We are so sorry, but we need to ensure that the guests that actually intend to stay can book. Our new cancellation policy is below. Note, we highly recommend that guests ensure that they have adequate travel insurance in place to protect them against any unforeseen circumstances.

Cancellation policy: Guests may cancel their reservation up to 7 days prior to their scheduled arrival date without penalty. Guests should notify the property via email. Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled arrival date will be subject to a charge equivalent to the full stay plus tax. No-shows will also be charged for the full stay rate plus tax. For stays during peak periods or special events, a longer cancellation period may apply and will be specified at the time of booking. Guests are advised to review their reservation confirmation for the full cancellation policy and any applicable terms and conditions.

If you’re a fan of world-class cuisine you should plan a culinary trip to Iceland. In February 2023 the Icelandic Culinary Team won two gold medals at the Culinary Olympics in Stuttgart in Germany. In past years the team has been winning gold medals in international competitions, making them one of the best national teams in the world.

Our chefs, Birgir and Emil, are proud members of this new Icelandic cuisine. Using traditional Icelandic ingredients which they source locally both from land and sea. They strive to use fresh quality products so that your dining experience reflects the great products Icelandic has to offer.

Complimentary. Our guests frequently ask us about parking, and we can confirm it´s free and easily accessible. All coffee/tea is free and is available in the restaurant area. Wi-fi is high-speed and free. Access to our thermal baths is free. Remember as well that you can drink the water from the tab, i´s the best water you can find, don´t buy water in Iceland.

Thanks to all our wonderful guests. Today, we are regarded as one of the best hotels in Iceland. We would like to thank all our wonderful guests for all the positive reviews which no one should take for granted.  You are the promoters of our business. We could not have made this without you.

No trip to Iceland is complete without a soak in one of our hot springs. We are a hotel with four large geothermal pools. Surrounded by snow and winter, being in a warm outdoor pool or in the sauna room underneath the stars and the northern lights, or during the light summer nights, watching the midnight sun, is reason enough to visit our hotel. Remember you don’t have to book in advance! It´s open to guests from 08 to 23 every day.

We serve a full-course delicious dinner – remember it´s a set menu consisting of three dishes: appetiser, main course, and dessert. Every day between 19.00 and 21.00. At dinner, we offer “the catch of the day”. Diners can be seated looking at a presentation kitchen while they are overlooking a panoramic view of south Iceland. The food is served communal style on one long dining table with seats on both sides.  Remember you don’t have to book in advance!

Our mission statement: To create personal experiences for our guests that they will treasure for a lifetime.

DINING

“We can’t say enough positive things about this hotel experience. This is my fourth trip to Iceland and was a first visit for my Mom and daughter. We’ve been fortunate to stay at some lovely places around the country, but this was by far our favourite. It has the usual amenities in spades… terrific WiFi, huge rooms and bathrooms, a nice modern feel with truly gorgeous furniture and modern, original Icelandic art. We ate dinner and breakfast there and both were outstanding. It’s also a great location with easy access to south Iceland and it’s not far from the Golden Circle. Two things really make this hotel special—the view and the people. The view is stunning in all directions! Like wow! And the people were incredibly kind, authentic, and just lovely. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience & hope to have an opportunity to stay again. Would highly recommend!”

„I honestly don’t want to write a review because I want this to be one of the best kept secrets in Iceland. Oli and Anna are wonderful hosts and their staff are lovely, including the most amazing Cooking staff. Our family had such an amazing time at this boutique hotel. The natural spa is simply phenomenal. The accommodations are beautiful -modern, high-quality fixtures and so well appointed rooms. The resident dogs, Mia and Tina, are so cute — my kids loved them! I didn’t want to leave. Quite frankly one of the best experiences we had in Iceland, and that speaks volumes because everything was such a phenomenal experience and adventure! Thank you to your wonderful team!“
